TAB FUNCTIONS -- The Effects Tab

The Effects Tab is where you add text effects to your project. It contains tools for rotating, outlining, shadowing (including direction) and shaping text. To use these features, you must have a text box selected. Make sure that the Enable Text Effects option, located at the top of the Effects Tab, is selected.

Note: Text Effects affects all of the text in the text box. By selecting "Enable Text Effects," you are changing your text from normal to "artistic" text. Text Effects are limited to one line of text per text box, as opposed to normal text, which can contain multiple lines of text per text box.

To switch back to normal text, deselect "Enable Text Effects."

The Effects Tab is divided into four parts:

  • The Text Shape tool allows you to select different types of special text curves. You can also change the control points of the curve by using the Edit Curve button.
  • The Rotate button allows you to rotate text.
  • The Text Outline tool allows you to add an outline to your text. You can control the color as well as the width of the outline.
  • The Text Shadow & Direction tool allows you to add a shadow to your text. You can control the color, the width, and the direction of the shadow.
